Executive Summary: Security in the cloud remains a hot topic of discussion across IT and business managers.  This survey of enterprise IT managers revealed that a majority of respondents believe even sensitive data can be secured in the cloud.  Also, nearly half believe the cloud is so secure that it could replace on-premise solutions.  However, 75% of respondents did state that some data, such as Intellectual Property, certain financial information and employee records—should be kept off the cloud given its sensitive content. Across the board, maintaining compliance to key mandates when moving data to the cloud is “mission critical” regardless of industry and company size.
