Position Overview
The Director of Marketing is responsible for creation and management of Hubspan’s overall marketing plan and associated budget with prioritized focus on creating and implementing partner marketing programs. This role includes responsibility for corporate and solution messaging, website updates/management, limited AR/PR, content development, solution packaging and pricing.
A significant focus of this role is on creation and management of end-to-end marketing programs and lead generation campaigns Hubspan’s channel partners, working closely with the business development and sales teams. Through channel programs Hubspan is integrated into every possible program and event related to our partnerships and obtaining qualified leads that convert to sales. You will own the marketing portion of the partner scorecards, marketing program schedules, and marketing cadence meetings with partners.
Responsibilities
The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing awareness and interest in Hubspan and our suite of solutions to support corporate growth targets. This position must operate at both strategic and tactical levels, developing strategic plans and then executing on those plans. The Director of Marketing will focus on the following priorities:
- Collaboration with Hubspan’s business development and sales team to create, own, and execute marketing plans for each channel partner
- Collaboration with channel partner marketing organizations to achieve targeted results of lead generation and market awareness
- Development of a broad range of content supporting collateral, website, partner programs, etc.
- Hubspan corporate messaging and positioning, limited AR/PR, corporate communications, etc.
- Management and development of marketing team, including a direct report of a Marketing Programs Manager
The Director of Marketing develops and executes the right portfolio of marketing programs to optimize the efficiency of channel partner resources and direct lead generation programs. Utilizing both traditional marketing outlets (events, direct marketing, public relations, website optimization, etc.) and emerging approaches to generating awareness (wikis, blogs, podcasts, viral campaigns), this role will develop the budget allocation and lead goals associated with each program while testing and course correcting through the process of execution.
- Stay abreast of the competitive landscape and utilize market information to influence messaging and positioning, sales tools, and recommendations around solution strategy and new markets. The marketing organization should be the source of competitive intelligence that is utilized in the field on a daily basis.
- Conduct detailed partner research into how Hubspan’s solution is being used currently and can in the future be used, across existing partners and vertical markets.
- Work with the executive team to package and price our solutions for specific targeted channel partners. Stay abreast of the wider, global technology landscape to ensure product opportunities and potential partnerships are explored and evaluated.
- Market development and product positioning are essential responsibilities in this role. These tasks include advertising campaigns, trade shows, collateral material, and promotional programs. The company needs to be positioned as the expert within the vertical markets and channel partners Hubspan serves.
- Work collaboratively as a single virtual team with business development and sales personnel across partnership organizations
- Infuse high degrees of energy and creativity in building the company’s future strategy that will drive significant expansion.
- Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with the Hubspan team.
Required Skills and Experience
The requirements of this role include strong marketing experience in the technology industry and successful management of channel marketing programs. Specific experience in management of lead generation campaigns as well as building relationships with channel partners is critical. The successful candidate will have the ability to translate highly technical information into marketing programs and materials. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- At least 10 years of experience in marketing and marketing management is required. It is expected that the candidate have a minimum of five years in the management of all marketing functions in an enterprise software business with more than $30 Million in revenue.
- Proven track record in successfully executing and implementing high impact channel marketing strategies and tactical programs that result in increased in top line financial results.
- Ability to think creatively about marketing opportunities, create the business case (cost-benefit) for an idea, and prioritize accordingly within the overall budget
- Knowledge and experience marketing solutions in one or more of the following areas: B2B Integration, EAI, E-Commerce, Supply Chain Automation, Payment Automation, e-invoicing, CRM Systems.
- Integrate as a key player on a cohesive executive leadership team, where dedication, integrity, and hands on experience are a must.
- Ability to work effectively and self directed in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
- Previous experience of working in a small company environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or business is expected. Master’s degree preferred.
